About Blankdays
Are Blankdays clothes sustainable?
Sustainability is the foundation of Blankdays. We use organic cotton, linen from certified Portuguese mills and Tencel. Garments are produced in small factories in Portugal and Sweden and sold directly to customers without middlemen.
Where are Blankdays clothes made?
Blankdays garments are produced in carefully selected factories in Portugal and Sweden. We work directly with our manufacturers and source linen from Somelos in Portugal.
What does the name Blankdays mean?
The name refers to the five rows of stitches found on every Blankdays garment. It symbolises the five working days of the week with no meetings scheduled.
What is slow fashion and why does Blankdays practice it?
Slow fashion focuses on timeless design, quality materials and garments made to last. Blankdays follows this approach by creating durable essentials instead of trend driven collections.
Why does Blankdays sell directly without middlemen?
By selling directly through its own webshop, Blankdays can offer high quality garments without traditional retail markups and maintain full control over presentation, storage and delivery.
Who founded Blankdays?
Blankdays was founded in 2018 by Johan with the goal of creating sustainable everyday essentials made with high quality materials and full transparency.
Materials and care
Does linen shrink when washed?
Blankdays linen is pre-shrunk during production so shrinkage is minimal if you follow the care instructions. Wash at 30°C, avoid tumble drying and air dry the garment.
How do I wash a linen shirt?
Wash at 30°C on a gentle cycle with a mild liquid detergent. Do not use bleach or fabric softener. Reshape while damp and air dry flat or on a hanger.
Can I tumble dry linen?
No. We do not recommend tumble drying linen. High heat can weaken the fibres, increase wrinkling and shorten the life of the garment.
Will my linen shirt wrinkle?
Yes. Linen wrinkles naturally and this is part of the character of the fabric. For a smoother look iron or steam the shirt while it is slightly damp.
What is Tencel?
Tencel is a fibre made from sustainably sourced wood pulp. It is soft, breathable and produced in a closed loop process with high resource efficiency.
What is organic cotton?
Organic cotton is grown without synthetic pesticides, herbicides or genetically modified seeds. It supports healthier soil and is used in all Blankdays t-shirts, sweatshirts and hoodies.
How do I care for an organic cotton t-shirt or sweatshirt?
Wash at 30–40°C on a normal cycle with mild detergent. Turn the garment inside out before washing and air dry or tumble dry on low heat.
How do I care for merino wool socks?
Wash at 30°C on a wool or gentle cycle or hand wash in cool water. Do not tumble dry. Air dry flat or on a hanger.
Does the fabric get softer over time?
Yes. Linen and merino wool become softer with wear and washing while organic cotton maintains its structure well over time.
Sizing and fit
Are Blankdays clothes true to size?
Yes. Blankdays garments are designed to be true to size unless otherwise stated on the product page.
Will my linen shirt or trousers change size after washing?
No meaningful size change is expected if the garment is washed at 30°C and not tumble dried since the linen is pre-shrunk before production.
How does the linen shirt fit?
The linen shirt has a regular tailored fit and is designed to work both tucked in and untucked.
Do Blankdays garments work for taller builds?
Blankdays garments have a regular length that works for most builds. Taller customers should compare the measurements on the product page with garments they already own.
How do I choose the right size?
Each product page includes detailed measurements. The easiest way to choose the right size is to compare them with a garment you already own.
Orders and shipping
How long does delivery take?
Orders placed before 2 p.m. on a business day are shipped the same day. For most European countries delivery takes 2–5 business days.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. Blankdays ships worldwide. Free shipping is available on orders over EUR 150 or USD 200.
What is your return policy?
Blankdays offers 60 day returns for unworn and unwashed garments in original condition.
Can I exchange for a different size?
Yes. Contact us within 60 days of receiving your order and we will help you arrange an exchange.
Is checkout secure?
Yes. Blankdays uses Shopify with industry standard SSL encryption for secure transactions.
